David and I have been married for eighteen years. We met in college through mutual friends at the University of North Carolina. We began dating during our Junior years and were married soon after graduation. David graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and is currently employed by Wyeth, a company that produces pharmaceuticals. He is the now the director of the plant, a job that pays well, but clearly exhausts him. However, he does his best to spend as much time with the children as possible, he knows how special these years are. All of the kids dearly love their daddy, and nothing brings me more joy than to see his eyes light up when four little balls of energy run to greet him when he arrives home from work.

I am currently employed as a second grade teacher and I'm loving my time at the school. As the mother of seven children my life is constantly in motion and craziness constantly reigns in the Sinclair home. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my large family and I am so blessed to call them mine. In my free time (ha) I enjoy cooking up yummy new recipes for my picky eaters, reading classic novels, coming up with fun activities for my students, spending time with my ever changing family, and leading Emmeline's girl scout troop.

Elena is our family's au pair. She came to stay with us soon after we adopted Charlotte three years ago. She is now twenty years old and truly part of the family. She watches the children for us during the week while David and I are at work, however she has the weekends off. She lives in her own apartment-like guest house unattached from the house, which allows for her privacy during her time off. The younger children love her to pieces and the older girls consider her as a another sister. We can't imagine our lives without Elena.

Wrenna is a free spirit. She's our first born and a natural leader. She's full of life and loves to laugh. She dances to to the beat of her own drum and won't let anyone tell her she's wrong. She's a bit of a quiet soul and sometimes has trouble making friends as a result. She has trouble being close to a lot of people at a time and prefers one-on-one friendships to large groups. She has very eclectic taste, she's artistic and loves anything to do with the arts. She loves all of her little siblings dearly and often acts as a mother to them. She has endless patience and they all adore her, however she has a very close bond with Emmeline.

Isla is our social butterfly. She's constantly surrounded by friends and they're never in short supply around the house. She started cheerleading for the junior league this year and she's on her way to being head of the squad. She loves shopping and fashion and can take hours to plan a single outfit. She has a flair for the dramatic and has been competing in pageants since a young age. However, as she's entering her teen years, Isla's attentions have turned more towards cheerleading and socializing with her friends. She loves her younger brothers and sisters, but lacks Wrenna's patience. She frequently snaps at them and can't handle it when they get in her space. However, she has a special relationship with Ellis. Ellis worships Isla and shares everything with her. Isla enjoys the attention and has a soft spot for her little sister.

Emmeline bring endless joy to the Sinclair Home. She's always got a joke or funny story to tell. She loves to make people laugh and her carefree happiness always wins over even the sourest of audiences. It is impossible for Emmeline's siblings to stay mad at her - not that she gives them much reason to; she almost never gets into trouble and loves to please others. She gladly helps around the house and is the designated "peacemaker" of the family. She and Wrenna are particularly close, and Emmeline was hit the hardest when Wrenna left for boarding school last year. But even that hasn't dampened her spirits; with daily phone calls and Skype chats with her big sister, Emmeline was soon back to her bubbly self.

Similar to Wren, Chandler is a free spirited child. However, he has always been very comfortable with being different. He endures ridicule and alienation at school, but refuses to change to please others. Often, he prefers spending time alone to the company of others. However, he is very close with his sister Emmeline. He is very responsible and mature for his young age, however he is very easily frustrated. He tends to have a quick fuse and gets angry when his is incapable of doing something. But these moments are few and far between and Chandler normally has a very easygoing personality and a sweet, loving disposition.

Ellis is a social butterfly. She loves to be around people and is never at a loss for friends. She has a spunky and vibrant personality and seems to have a never ending supply of energy. However, she tends to be fairly self-focused and vain. She thrives on attention from her family and peers and will do anything to be in the spotlight. She is a passionate child and feels things very strongly. One of her passions is pageantry , she loves the applause and praise that she receives after a perfect routine. Ellis idolizes her big sister, Julianna and longs to be just like her.

Charlotte is a tiny princess. She adores all things pretty and girly; in fact she is rarely seen wearing anything but skirts and dresses - always covered in ruffles and frills. She's sweet and lovable, however, she is extremely strong willed and can throw quite the tantrum. These fits most often occur when she is separated from her mother, stemming from the neglect that she endured before her adoption. Her rage is so extreme that she has been banned from three daycares and the Sinclair's had no choice but to hire a nanny. Charlotte's tantrums and separation anxiety are a work in progress as the family continues to show patience and unconditional love towards her.
Somya Elise Sinclair (16 months):

Somya is the youngest of the Sinclair children. She's an "easy" baby and tends to be very happy and self-entertained. She's very social and warms up to new people instantly. Recently adopted from India, Somya is still in the process of bonding with her forever family and adjusting to life in the Sinclair home. She loves to investigate her world and her curiosity often leads to hours of entertainment. Somya's sweet, mellow personality adds completeness to the Sinclair family, and they are thankful for her every day.
